César Cernuda

As President of Microsoft Latin America and Corporate Vice President of Microsoft Corporation, César Cernuda oversees a business, which includes 35 offices in 18 countries with more than 2,500 employees and 80,000 business partners. He is responsible for all of Microsoft’s products, services and support offerings across Latin America and accelerating the company’s current transformation to being the leading productivity and platform company for the mobile-first, cloud-first era. A key area of focus for Cernuda is to enable Microsoft’s customers in Latin America to accelerate their business growth, as they embark on their own journey of digital transformation.

Prior to his current role, Cernuda was the President of Microsoft Asia Pacific. In this role, he led the company’s commercial and consumer products, and service and support offerings to meet Asia Pacific’s aggressive consumption of cloud, mobile, big data and social technologies. His key task was to guide Microsoft’s current transformation from a primarily on premise software business to a mobile-first, cloud-first company.

Latin America is familiar territory for Cernuda, since he previously was Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Services for Microsoft in the region. In this role, he was responsible for managing the overall business in the region. He drove commercial and consumer marketing strategies, in addition to services and business processes to support Microsoft’s business units and partners. Under his tenure, the Microsoft Latin America Area Headquarters won the Alfred P. Sloan Award for Business Excellence in Workplace Flexibility in 2011 as a result of use of a flexible and effective workplace strategy to increase business and employee success. In 2012, Cernuda was invited to the Microsoft Executive Bench, a distinct honor given to a select number of top Microsoft executives.

He also served as the Worldwide Vice President of Microsoft Business Solutions Sales and Field Operations. He oversaw the Microsoft ERP & CRM business worldwide. He was a member of the executive leadership team Worldwide Dynamics division and worked directly with the product teams to ensure subsidiaries were supported to meet their goals and drive customer satisfaction. He was also the highest-level executive responsible for sales performance.

Before taking that position, Cernuda was Vice President of Microsoft Business Solutions International, taking care of sales and marketing business worldwide, except North America. He was responsible for sales, presales, channel, marketing, product, support and services. During this time, he was a member of the Microsoft International executive board.

Cernuda was also General Manager for Microsoft Business Solutions Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). He also held several positions at EMEA headquarters, including as Director of Small and Midmarket Solutions & Partner group. In this role, he worked on the merger between the former Navision A/S and Microsoft Corp. and led the licensing compliance management. He joined Microsoft Spain in 1997, where he led the SMEs group for Spain launching bCentral, an online Web services portal. This was awarded as best product of the year in Spain and best internal worldwide initiative at Microsoft.

Javier Chavez Ruiz

Javier has served as Executive Director of Innovation since June 2016. Prior to joining the Santander Group, he was the Vice President and Mexico Country Manager for Yellowpepper, a Payment Fintech with presence all over Latin America. Previously, he was Managing Diretor of Business Synergies Initiatives at Grupo BAL, one of the three largest business groups in Mexico. Javier collaborated with the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM) as Dean of the Business School. He has vast consulting experience with both Mckinsey and A.T. Kearney.

Javier holds a PhD in Business Economics from Anderson School of Management at UCLA and an undergraduate degree in Actuarial Sciences from Universidad Anahuac. He received The National Actuarial Sciences Award from the President of Mexico. He also published a book with Oxford University Press in collaboration with Mr. Helmut Maucher, CEO and President of the Board of Nestle Worldwide (2002). The book was distributed all over Latin America and Spain.

Samuel G. Kramer

Sam Kramer is a partner in Baker McKenzie's Chicago office and is a lead partner in the firm's Global FinTech Core Team. Sam is recognized in Chambers Global in the field of outsourcing, and in Chambers USA in the fields of Technology law and Outsourcing. He is also recognized in The Legal 500 as a leading lawyer in technology outsourcing, and in Who’s Who Legal in the fields of TMT, information technology, Internet, e-commerce and data protection.
Sam is an adjunct faculty member at The John Marshall Law School where he has taught Cyberspace Law in the Information Technology LLM Program.

Matt Broch

Eric Crabtree

He brings more than 20 years of global experience in developing and delivering multi-channel financial services solutions that drive growth and improve client experience. Eric most recently served as a managing director of omni-channel banking at Royal Bank of Scotland, where he was responsible for developing a target operating model, delivering a consistent customer experience and driving the adoption of digital assets into 1300 branches across the United Kingdom, benefiting 16.5 million customers.

Eric has also served as the Director of Strategic Transformation for Barclays Customer Network, where he was responsible for ensuring Barclays 14+ million UK customers received a seamless experience across the branch network, telephony contact centers and digital/mobile banking channels. Earlier in his career, he held several executive leadership positions at Barclays Bank and Washington Mutual, where he played significant leadership roles in multiple mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and post-acquisition integration work. He also founded a financial services advisory and consulting firm.

Michael Schlein

Mr. Schlein brings nearly 30 years of extensive international banking, management and public service experience to his role as President and CEO of Accion. As President of Citigroup’s International Franchise Management, Mr. Schlein managed the bank’s network of 100 Chief Country Officers. Before that, he ran communications, philanthropy, government relations, branding and human resources for Citigroup. He served as Chief of Staff at the US Securities and Exchange Commission in the Clinton Administration and in New York’s City Hall in the Dinkins and Koch Administrations. He began his career in investment banking.

In 2014, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio appointed Mr. Schlein to serve as the Chairman of the NYC Economic Development Corporation, which encourages economic growth throughout New York’s five boroughs and facilitates investments that build capacity, generate prosperity, and catalyze the economic vibrancy of city life as a whole.

Mr. Schlein has graduate and undergraduate degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa.

Kevin Greenfield

Kevin Greenfield is the Director for Bank Information Technology for the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency’s (OCC) Operational Risk Policy Division. In this role, he manages the team responsible for developing, communicating, and interpreting policies for the OCC’s supervision of technology operations at financial institutions. Kevin represents the OCC on several interagency groups, including the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council’s (FFIEC) Information Technology Subcommittee, that are focused on coordination and development of information technology risk management supervisory guidance for topics such as information security, resiliency, technology operations, corporate governance, and independent risk management.

Prior to being named Director for Bank Information Technology in 2014, Mr. Greenfield spent the prior 14 years with the OCC’s Large Bank Supervision group where he gained experience examining large and complex technology operations at several of the largest U.S. financial institutions. In this role, Kevin held various technology supervision roles at large financial institutions based in Pittsburgh, Charlotte and New York City. 

Mr. Greenfield is a graduate of the University of Dayton and holds the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) professional certification.

Manuel Silva

Before joining Santander in 2015, Manuel was the founding member of BBVA Ventures out of San Francisco, which he started after spending 5 years at BBVA in Corporate Development and Innovation functions.

Manuel holds a B.A. in Business Administration from CUNEF (Madrid), an MPhil in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Sciences Po (Paris) and has conducted doctoral level research on Chinese Economics at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Kevin Fox

Driss Temsamani

In his current role Driss is responsible for a full range of digital and mobile enabled banking platforms for cash management, liquidity investment services, working capital solutions, commercial cards and trade to enable multinational corporations, financial institutions and public sector organizations to operate in the most connected and efficient manner across 22 countries in Latin America and more than 70 countries around the world.

Greg Larkin

As the Senior Director of Information Security Risk and Governance for Freddie Mac, David rebuilt the risk and governance function and developed a team to provide risk assessments, methodologies, tools, services, and training to improve the organization’s capabilities and maturity. Prior to that he was Vice President of Risk Management for JPMorgan Chase, and was responsible for providing an accurate assessment of the current risk management state, contributing to the future direction of risk management, continuity and disaster recovery capabilities for the organization.

David has a MSE from the University of Pennsylvania, and a MBA from MIT. He is also a frequent speaker at high profile industry conferences, and serves on the Board of Directors for a public corporation. In addition, David is a member of the editorial board for The Journal of Law & Cyber Warfare.

Daniel Kennedy

Mr. Dewey regularly represents commercial banks, life insurance companies and other financial institutions in commercial lending transactions, including construction and permanent real estate financing, healthcare real estate finance and asset based lending, such as receivable, inventory, equipment and working capital facilities. He has substantial experience in capital market transactions, including syndicated and other co-lending arrangements, representing both lead lenders and participants. Mr. Dewey has written and lectured on numerous finance topics and is an adjunct professor of law at the University of Miami School of Law.

Mr. Dewey is also an experienced computer coder with experience integrating several blockchain protocols (including Ethereum, Bitcoin and Hyperledger) into transactional practices, including the development of smart contracts and other innovative concepts.

Mr. Dewey speaks and writes extensively about smart contracts and blockchain technology more generally and is the co-author of The Blockchain: A Guide for Legal and Business Professionals, published by Thomson Reuters early this fall.
